Circle Day for Squarespace Web Designers

On August 25, 2022, the Squarespace Circle community came together in person and online for the first-ever Circle Day event. Attendees gathered at Squarespace’s New York City headquarters, through Zoom, and on YouTube Live to network with Squarespace pros; gain behind-the-scenes access to upcoming products; take a deep dive into existing products and business tactics; and learn more about the benefits of Circle membership.

More than 100 Circle members experienced live sessions and workshops in person, while over 1,200 Circle members and 2,000 viewers on YouTube joined us online from all over the world. Attendees learned from a variety of Squarespace team members and product developers, as well as some of Circle’s most innovative members.

If you missed the event or are looking for a recap, read on for highlights from Circle Day 2022*.

Opening keynote

Paul Gubbay, Squarespace’s Chief Product Officer, kicked off Circle Day 2022 by discussing his history with the company, its mission, and how Squarespace is designed with professional designers in mind. Circle members have an incredible impact on Squarespace products and help to shape releases as significant and groundbreaking as Fluid Engine, our newest drag-and-drop editor.

A look ahead: What’s next at Squarespace

After looking back at the Circle community’s impact over the years, members got an exclusive look at Squarespace’s upcoming product roadmap. The product team pulled back the curtain, providing access to the many programs and projects currently in the works at Squarespace.

Fluid Engine workshop

Product Designer Vanasa Liu guided Circle members and attendees through the process of building a website using Fluid Engine, Squarespace’s new drag-and-drop editor. The workshop highlights Fluid Engine’s most exciting and innovative features, many of which were influenced by feedback from the Circle community.
