How to Talk About the New Squarespace Website Plans with Clients
Squarespace has announced four new website plans designed to better align with its ever-expanding suite of professional tools and features. These plans reflect Squarespace’s ongoing commitment to empowering entrepreneurs to achieve their goals and bring their vision to life. While existing plans won’t change unless you or your clients choose to switch, it’s important to familiarize yourself with these updates as you continue building stunning websites and strengthening your brand as a web designer.
Why Squarespace is making this update
When designing new website plans, Squarespace set out to deliver options that offer both functionality and value for all customers—including you and the clients you serve. These plans provide access to more tools, empowering you to build exceptional websites and meet a wide range of needs, from simple portfolios to robust ecommerce businesses.
You can guide your clients in selecting the best plan that aligns with their current goals while offering the flexibility to scale as their needs grow. Whether they’re launching their first website or need advanced tools to manage clients, build communities, or start an online store, these plans are designed to serve businesses at every stage of their journey. And for customers in general, these plans ensure that whether they’re starting small or thinking big, they’ll have the right tools to take the next step whenever the moment is right.

What the new plans mean for your clients
While these new website plans present changes for you and your clients as you build and sell on Squarespace, there’s also a lot not changing. Squarespace’s new plans still include award-winning design tools, hundreds of templates, robust marketing and selling features, and AI functionality to help you build stunning websites. There are also a lot of improvements to take advantage of, including:
Sell on any plan
All new Squarespace plans offer the tools needed to sell physical and digital products and services like online courses through a website. Squarespace has added additional and improved selling features to the lower-tier plans, such as the ability to sell unlimited products.
Earn more from sales
Lower Squarespace Payments transaction rates on premium plans reward sales successes.
Offer Digital Products, no matter the plan
All new plans include features from Squarespace’s Digital Products add-ons. The plans include the ability to lower online store, digital content, and membership transaction fees (compared to legacy plans).
What’s next for you and your clients
Squarespace is excited to finalize the launch of these four plans and watch as you and your clients grow and earn more with more commerce-focused tools. There will be a transition period as the plans roll out to customers around the world.
Here are the website plan options available to you and your clients as of February 2025:
US-based Circle members and clients: Choose from one of the four new website plans when you decide to subscribe, create a new site, change plans, or change billing cycle
Circle members and clients outside the US: Choose from legacy plans until new plans are released in your (or your client’s) market
Existing Circle members and clients who become eligible for these new plans can choose to stay on a current plan or initiate a plan change to one of these new plans in the future. As a note, if you change the current billing plan, cycle or reactivate an expired legacy site, you (or your client) will leave the current plan and will need to choose from one of the new plans instead. It's not possible to return to a legacy plan after switching to a Basic, Core, Plus, or Advanced plan or after canceling a subscription.
