Vibe Coding: Hype, Risk, and Where It Actually Fits

Vibe coding is everywhere right now, but what it actually looks like inside a working Squarespace practice depends on who you ask. At Circle Day 2026, Circle Platinum Partners Becca Harpain (founder of Inside The Square), Dave Hawkins (founder of Made by Dave), and Will Myers (software engineer and co-host of the Somewhat Useful podcast) sat down for a conversation about where vibe coding fits in their day-to-day work.

Even with the immense power and efficiency of AI, vibe coding isn’t a one-size-fits-all solution for web design. In the long tradition of tools and workflows that came before them, the role of AI and vibe coding will depend on the scope of your project, the client you’re working with, and, ultimately, the web designer running the project. In the end, the success of your vibe coding tool your client’s needs and your—you guessed it—vibe.

Becca, Dave, and Will discussed how the web design and development industry arrived at this point in AI-assisted workflows, and each offered a different perspective:

  • Will explained what AI changes and doesn’t change about the value web developers bring

  • Dave shared how to decide when vibe coding is worth using for a web design project, and when it isn’t

  • Becca highlighted the gap between what AI can technically do and what it should do when coding a Squarespace website

Watch this session to learn:

  • How pros are actually using AI for Squarespace web design and development businesses

  • How to implement AI into your workflow while maintaining your value

  • Where vibe coding is headed and what it means for web design moving forwar
