How to Use Squarespace Email Campaigns to Send Holiday Greetings to Clients

The holiday season is a unique opportunity to show appreciation for current clients and re-engage with past clients, too. After all, they’re at the heart of your success; expressing your gratitude goes a long way to reinforcing the relationships you’ve worked hard to develop.

As the festivities quickly approach, now is the time to plan your holiday greetings. With Squarespace Email Campaigns, you can create branded and personalized emails in minutes. Plus, you can build and schedule them long before the holiday hustle and bustle begins.

Why send holiday greetings to clients?

A holiday message is a tangible way to show clients you value and appreciate their business. Clients are more likely to return to brands that make them feel good. They’re also more likely to refer them to others.

All holiday emails aren’t created equal; personalization is key. Personalized email marketing humanizes your brand and sets you apart from competitors. It also keeps your services top of mind. To make your email as personal as possible, address recipients by name and get targeted with your messaging (Email Campaigns can help with both).

Crafting the perfect holiday greeting

A heartfelt holiday message doesn’t have to be elaborate, but it should be thoughtful. To start, identify your audience and your why for sending an email in the first place. Do you simply want to say thank you? Or, will you share a recap of recent client wins? Highlight upcoming initiatives? Offer a referral discount? The purpose of your email will likely differ depending on your audience (e.g., existing clients vs. prospective clients), so tailor your message to each mailing list. Add an extra touch of personalization and address each recipient by name, too.

Be warm and conversational but to the point. A concise email likely garners more attention and appreciation. If you plan to include discounts or seasonal services, add a clear call to action (CTA) to increase chances of conversion. With Acuity Scheduling, clients can seamlessly book your services right from their inbox.

The following are two examples of happy holiday emails that you can adapt for your use.

Next steps:

Designing a festive email

A festive email will stand out in a crowded inbox. Use holiday-themed graphics and colors to catch your clients’ attention and leave a lasting impression. With Email Campaigns, you can customize your email design with ease. Manually update your font, link color, and background color, or use a ready-made template.

Pro tip: Make your email fun and holiday-inclusive by sticking with metallic colors and using neutral language.

Of course, getting festive doesn’t mean abandoning your brand identity. Align festive elements with your existing brand guidelines for maximum impact.

Other tips for success

Consider the following as you prepare your holiday correspondence.

1. Maintain an updated and well-segmented email list

Maintaining an up-to-date subscriber list reduces the likelihood of email bounces, which can negatively impact email deliverability. Segmentation ensures your emails reach the right audience at the right time. Learn more about building and managing mailing lists.

2. Include a call-to-action (CTA)

Don’t leave clients in the dark. Give them clear instructions for how and where to follow up with you. Draw attention to your CTA with brightly colored text or a button.

3. Highlight holiday hours

‘Tis the season for modified hours and time off. Communicate any updates to your availability so clients know when to expect a response. If you’re taking a lot of time off, you may want to schedule your emails ahead of time.

4. Test, test, test

Proofread and test your email on various devices and screen sizes before distributing or scheduling your email. This way, you can deliver a consistent and seamless experience for every recipient.

5. Track results

Review open rate, click-through-rate, conversion rate, and unsubscribe rate to measure the success of your holiday email campaigns. The Email Campaign dashboard provides an overview of these metrics to improve future performance.

A holiday email may seem like a small gesture, but it’s really a long-term investment in your client relationships. Take the time to send heartfelt and personalized messages this holiday season and experience the benefits long after the new year.
